Executive

David Sandoe OAM, Chairman

General Manager and a Principal of Finity Consulting Pty. Limited, an independently owned Australian actuarial and insurance consultancy firm. Being diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1996 added a new dimension to David`s portfolio. He has held a number of leadership positions with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA), Cancer Voices NSW, Cancer Voices Australia and other cancer organisations in addition to senior executive positions within the insurance industry in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland. David is a former National President of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and the Swiss Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is an honorary life member of both organisations. He is currently the National Deputy Chairman of the PCFA and leads (with his wife Pam) the Prostate Cancer Support Group at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, Wahroonga.

Marjorie Anderson, Joint Deputy Chairman

Managing Director Anderson Knight Pty Limited, a Sydney CBD strategic communication consultancy established with Dr Ron Knight in 1987. She has extensive experience in providing communication services for corporate, government and not-for-profit organisations. She has worked with CSR Limited in Australia and with the Australian Embassy in Washington DC. She is Adjunct Professor of Marketing Communication and Public Relations at the University of Canberra. She has been active in the Public Relations Institute of Australia, as a State and National President, Founding Chair of the National Education Committee, and now Chair of the NSW Chapter of the PRIA College of Fellows. Other activities include being a Member of the Judiciary Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and Immediate Past President of the Swiss Australian Cultural Association.

Professor Robert Armstrong, Joint Deputy Chairman

Professor Armstrong is an Honorary Associate Professor in the School of Chemistry and served as a Fellow of the Senate of the University of Sydney from 1991 to 1999. He has many years experience as a research scientist, specialising in vibrational and x-ray absorption spectroscopies. He is currently active in a number of national and international research collaborations. He sits on several international editorial boards and has published over 100 scientific papers. Community activities include serving on the Board of the Institute of Magnetic Resonance Research as a Director over the period 1995-2005, and as its Chair from 2002-2006. He has been an active member of the Glebe Society Inc., over many years and was its President from 2004-2006.

Margaret Pavey, Special Counsel, Maddocks Lawyers

Margaret has 20 years experience as a lawyer practicing primarily in the area of Commercial Disputes and Trade Practices law. She regularly appears in the Supreme Court, Federal Court and High Court of Australia. Margaret also has extensive experience in Company secretarial practice and corporate governance.

Ian Pratt Financial Controller

Ian Pratt, a Partner in Trood Pratt & Co, a Sydney-based firm of Chartered Accountants, established in 1991 has more than 37 years experience in the accounting profession. Ian specialises in business development and compliance issues. He is an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Director of a number of private and public entities.

Committee Members

The Foundation Diane executive team is supported by a fundraising events committee of volunteer professional members who contribute their time and expertise to helping the Foundation reach its goals. Committee members include: Nada Andrews; Manager, Corporate Communication of St Hilliers; Luke Faccini of The Sponge; Robert Gunn, Producer of Robert Gunn Events; Dr Ron Knight, Director of Anderson Knight Pty Limited. Special team members are Sarah Mountford-Bunn, grand-daughter of the New Zealand Rugby league legend Cec Mountford and daughter of Carolyn; and Drew Robertson, grandson of Gwen and Harry Bath and son of Diane.

The Foundation Diane team is joined by members of the St George Leagues Club management team including directors Peter Black and Craig Young; Robert Stone's widow Anne; Beverley Park Golf Club President Frank Bates; and Brian East of Integral Asset Management Cronulla.
