Robert Stone Memorial Golf Day and Gala Dinner

Beverley Park Golf Club

5 Ball Ambrose & Presentations - followed by a Gala Dinner at St George Leagues Club Dinner / Fashion Show / Entertainment / Celebrity Auction

The successful golf day will now be held as a bi-annual event

Funds raised were donated to the Department of Radiology, The University of Melbourne. As Robert Stone died of a brain tumour, the decision to donate to the Department was taken on the advice of Professor Carolyn Mountford, Medical Director of Foundation Diane, in consultation with Anne Stone, Robert’s widow. An excerpt from a note from Professor Mountford refers;

“…the efforts of the Foundation Diane team in raising $35,000 for research into brain cancer is acknowledged with sincere appreciation.

Professor Patricia Desmond, Head of the Department, has given permission for Siemens to load on the latest software to their scanner 3T scanner in Melbourne. Once this is done Drs Ramadan and Stanwell will commence two dimensional MR spectroscopy on those brain tumors selected by the national experts in this field. These funds will pay for scanner time and thus allow these studies to commence on Australian soil.”
